(Discontinued at 4th Gen Slim)* FLASH MEMORY CARD READERS, an easy way to access several types of memory cards. PS2 is STILL being sold. The 60 GB First Generation is the most functional of all The PS3's.Short and Simple.* HARDWARE-based BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY with PS2 and PS1. * FOUR USB PORTS, more connectivity with devices. (2nd Gen went to Software compatibility and 3rd Gen discontinued ALL backward compatibility).* SUPER AUDIO CD (SACD) support, while not a big thing to others, for audiophiles these cd's are the highest level of recording and if you are using a premium home theater system, the sound is incredible. (Discontinued at 3rd Gen)* THIRD PARTY OS, again not a biggie but is just staring to get exploited, so for hackers this may be important. (down to 2 USB at 3rd Gen)* WIFI, available on all PS3's except the 1st gen 20gb.if concerned with the item you are getting check if the serial number begins with CECHA##THE BEST was the FIRST.SO sitting in front of the store was worthwhile afterall. (But I didn't get mine until 2 months later).
i love the online stuff and seems like they add new stuff every update. I got the ps3 when it still had ps2 playability. from games to movies and netflix i love it looks great on a nice flatscreen i got a 46" and its so nice. I wish they still made that. i love it i got rid of my ps2. i dont think i have yet to tap all the stuff the ps3 has to offer i have played a little bit adding on other OS. So much to be able to do on this its an incredible machine.
a great game console, the most powerful when it comes to graphics over the 360, and Wii, although thats not all thats important, get it depending on your taste in games, i love that it supports blu-ray though, also with the 60gb PS3, its fully backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2
The system also has the best graphics and there are few that can deny that with games like Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, and Gran Tourismo Prologue. There is no charge to play on Playstation. Just get an adapter and download all of your memory cards onto your hard drive. Other excluseives include Infamous, Killzone 2, Socom, Mag, God of War 3, the Resistance trilogy, Gran Tourismo, AGENT, Motorstorm, Haze, Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, and Metal Gear Solid 4. I spent many a nights trying to decide this issue, but what it came down to was the exclusive titles.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves being the best as it literally makes other games look like their standing still with it's gorgeous graphics and game play. How Microsoft who makes computers doesn't have this feature boggles the mind. The PS3 is the ultimate computer, and best console I have ever played in my life. I always wait a year after launch to buy a console and I could have gone easily to an XBOX 360 after all they were out first and they had more games. Yes the 360 also has good graphics, but what it is missing is that Playstation 3 games are released on a high-def Blu Ray disc.
This version also has SD memory card slots and 4 USB slots on the front for easy access to any media you have. You can also surf the net on your Playstation. All of these games are why I stuck with Playstation they always have had and always will have the best games. The Playstation doubles as an amazing Blu Ray player. You have your classic Playstaion controller as well it's just wireless Bluetooth now.
Way back in 2006 when this system became available I'll admit it I was skeptical. You can store and even print pictures off of your PS3 along with holding videos and music. Also you can play online for free you heard me free. There will soon be a premium package with exclusive content for money but I doubt it will be worth it. This version of the system is my personal favorite, because it includes PS2 and PS1 backwards compatibility. The PS3 has the best games and graphics on the market today, along with a top notch Blu Ray player and the ability to play online for free. Playstation at the time had a lot of exclusives and they continue to grow each month as new titles are released.
Forget best console of the generation this is the best console of all time. Can I say great deal any louder. You can also save all your data on the hard drive so you don't have to fumble around with a memory card. And yes I've played a lot in my time including the Wii and Xbox 360.
I got one from GameFunk LLC here on Amazon and it's so hard to believe it's a refurbished system. It look and perform amazingly spectacular. It came in it's factory box with all the manuals and stuff. Great Work GameFunk.
